1. What Data We Collect

We collect only the minimum data needed to operate the service:

• Account data: Email address and name when you create an account
• Usage data: AI credit consumption counts to enforce limits
• Cloud sync data (Pro only): Your notes and templates are automatically synced to the cloud for cross-device access. All data is encrypted end-to-end
• Payment data: Handled entirely by Lemon Squeezy — we never see your card details

2. What We Do NOT Collect

• The content of any notes or templates stored locally on Free accounts
• Browsing history or visited websites
• Any data from pages you visit while using the extension
• Personal information beyond what's needed for accounts

3. How We Use Your Data

Data we collect is used solely to:

• Authenticate your account and manage your subscription
• Deliver AI-powered features through the extension
• Sync your notes across devices automatically for Pro users
• Respond to support requests

4. Data Storage & Security

Local storage: By default, all your notes are stored securely on your device using Chrome's built-in local storage. Only you can access this data.

Cloud storage (Pro): Pro users automatically get cloud sync to access their notes across devices. All synced data is fully encrypted and stored in Supabase, a SOC 2 certified cloud provider. Data is transmitted over HTTPS. Your notes are encrypted in a way that not even our backend team can view or access your content.

5. Third-Party Services

• Supabase: Authentication and cloud data storage (Pro only)
• Lemon Squeezy: Payment processing — governed by their own privacy policy
• Google Gemini API: AI generation — prompts are processed but not stored by us

6. Data Retention

We retain your account data as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all associated cloud data is permanently deleted within 30 days. Local data on your device is deleted when you uninstall the extension.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction or deletion of your data
• Contact support to request removal of your cloud-synced data at any time
• Export your notes from within the extension settings

8. Children's Privacy

My Canned Notes Pro is not intended for users under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy occasionally. When we do, we'll update the "Last updated" date above. Significant changes will be communicated through the extension.
